The Warriors knew that this was going to a tough test against a strong Backwell side, who still remain unbeaten this season.
From the start the lads played excellent football on both sides, cancelling each other out with some fantastic tackles. But the Warriors were banging on the door and on 11 minutes it was Louis Deane getting his 3rd in 2 games with a majestic finish at the back post to slot it home. The boys stepped up the pressure and pressed for another. It was just before half time and Charlie Phippen popped up with an absolute belter that smashed past the Backwell goalie taking the Warriors 2-0 up.
The second half began as it ended with the lads on top, but it wasn't long before Backwell were back in it. A miscommunication between the lads at the back let the Backwell player carve through an slot past the oncoming Jamie Draper. The game changed and it was end to end stuff, but with around 5 minutes to go Backwell were given a free kick on the edge of the box. The lad hit an absolute screamer past Draper in the top right corner. The match ended up a draw, which was a fair result for both teams.
Fantastic performance from the lads who were absolutely shattered and collapsed on the pitch after the final whistle - proud of the lads!!!
