The Warriors were back to league action with there first game in the spring league.
Away to a Weston Crusaders team that the lads had only played 10 mins against in a 6 a side tournament last summer, they didn't know what to expect.
Buy like most town teams the physical element started to become clear from early on in the first half when a few good challenges went in, especially from the like of Charlie Phippen and captain Josh Moon who led from the front all game. The lads played some good football in the first half and Jamie Burnett worked hard up front to put the ball in the net as well as assisting his team mates, but to no avail. At the other end not much troubled Jamie Draper in between the Warriors goal, until the lads switched off for a second which gave Crusaders a shooting chance from less than 5 yards out which they kindly netted.
Th half-time talk was productive and within 5 minutes Matt Perry who was playing in a more forward role than usual hit an absolute screamer from outside the box that flew past the Crusaders goalkeeper. After that the Warriors dominated the game, which clearly got the opposition and the fans irate and tackles started flying in. However the lads did the talking with the ball and scored 2 more goals both coming from Louis Deane. His first from a great team move which ended with Deane bringing it down with one foot and slotting it home with his other - the smile on his face said it all. The second was as the back post, gambling and slotting it underneath the goalkeeper to give the lads a massive 1-3 win.
The management were so proud of the lads character and fight in the game, and they roll on to Backwell Athletic next week - another massive game for the lads.
